Storytime – My First Miniature Show and All About Miniature Shows This Year 2022

Wish you all a prosperous new year and more happiness this coming year – even we are still facing a pandemic and alot of challenges but we are still here, enjoying our minis, our hobbies, our passion – miniatures.

A little story about my first miniature fair

I have been making miniature animals since 2014 but I wasn’t really interested to be in some miniature show until autumn of 2019 in Stockholm, Sweden. So I wasn’t so sure and confident about it then. I got some messages from my customers if I could come to the miniature show and sell my miniature animals. Miniature show is a place where miniaturists, craft people and collectors get together and enjoy their hobby.  Then I thought why not try this? So I had to ask my mother-in-law if she could follow me and give me some support, thankfully she said yes.

We have prepared, we both made miniature animals and sell them on one table. I made some miniature cats, chickens and some miniature accessories to sell on that fair. Didn’t know what to expect. I was so nervous but at the same time excited. My first miniature show in Stockholm! We arrived early. We got our table fixed. There were exhibitors all over the place and it was all sorts of miniatures from food, shoes, dolls, houses, I mean everything in small formats! I was so fascinated! Miniature heaven!

Then they let the people in one by one. I never thought it would be that much people! They started to come to my table and bought, talked about my mininatures, some come-back customers, some from my facebook friends etc. Then I almost sold every miniatures and the feeling that people were satisfied and happy about their purchases and I got to meet wonderful people and met those who have the same interest like I myself.

That happiness I had on that day were unbearable that I could’nt wait till the next fair and I already had a plan till the next one. And then came the Corona pandemic. Everything had stopped! I paused making miniatures the whole year of 2020, which was boring.

The next year, 2021… The Corona restrictions have been lightier. I have started accepting custom orders and of course planned about the miniature fairs. I realized how much I missed making miniatures!

Miniature shows, 2021..

So I have been in two miniature shows in 2021 here in Sweden. First was in Skåne and the second one in Stockholm. Both miniature shows were amazing! I got to travel and see other places and do what I love to do. I’ve met alot of wonderful people which I share the same interest and hobby. So it was not as complicated as the first miniature show back in 2019 as I already know what to expect, I already knew some people there and I was more ready with these ones. It was joyful and anticipated after a long wait because of Corona.
